Located on altitude of more than 2000 meters, it's the one of the most highest placed settlements in the region. A former mining settlement, it shifted its focus on tourism

Upper Zgid (Verkhniy Zgid) is similar to Sadon -- it was a mining town as well, its population also shrinked fast, and in the end population is now lower than 100.

But with more investments into tourism, this village got more lively. The "Dance with Daggers" statue appeared there in 2022, on a stunning observation platform. To get here, one rides through the half-abandoned settlement across the serpentines. I wished to make a few stops on the way, though, as it had its own sights -- like a purely white House of Culture of Stalinist architecture, for example.
