Yaroslávl'. The "wooden" and "ground" quarters

In Russian terms, only an anniversary or a championship can change and elevate a city, but its historical centre is still preserved well together with its many churches
When the historical centre of Yaroslávl is the subject, in its wide definition it includes former suburbs on the right bank of Kotórosl. But it gets excluded mostly, so we deal with an area of a tolerable condition.
I moved into the guesthouse right on the waterfront, and the neighboring building was the Church of the Epiphany.

Bricks here are pinkish, it's especially noticeable in the belltower

I think Church of St. John Chrysostom really made a big impact on it, as it was built 30 years prior

On the other side of a bridge is the Transfiguration Monastery; unfortunately, I didn't manage to get here

The following hours were spent taking a walk in Koróvniki. Next I rested for some time and on the evening I met with my local buddy. Here he guided me throughout the "wooden" quarter, and to be sincere, I don't remember anything I walked along.
The main sanctuary here is the huge Assumption Cathedral in a Russian style

So yeah, I should had spent more time in Yaroslavl. Meanwhile I tried to visit everything in one day. x)
